Darren has worked at Horizon Mechanical Solutions for over 25 years. He started his career in the family business shortly after high school working his way up from an installer of ductwork; then into field service, all the while studying refrigeration at a local college. Darren then began his succession planning phase. He worked for a company that would become Siemans, gaining real world controls experience from both the service and installation side of controls technology. He has also worked for a world leader in control technology, Johnson Controls. There, he gained the knowledge of Project Management, Engineering and the technical side of HVAC controls. He is recognized as one the best Controls contractors for Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities in the region; understanding the unique challenges these systems bring to controls. Currently, he is increasing his focus on day-to-day operations, assisting Project Managers and directing Service Technicians. Darren states that he has a passion for learning the intricacies of HVAC, chilled water and VRF technologies. His personal passions involve his family and their love of horse related activities with their daughter; including trick riding and dressage.
Nate is Vice President of Operations and is an integral part of our organization for over two decades. Nate prides himself for taking your projects from the drawing board to reality with professional style and precise execution. His skill sets include experience with water and waste-water systems, schools, hospitals, jails, prisons, big box stores, airports, stadiums, breweries and multi-story buildings. Certifications include welding, OSHA training, MSHA training and multiple equipment certifications. He holds journeyman’s licenses in Denver, CO and Cheyenne, WY. His hobbies include being on the ocean, fast cars, and spending time with his family!
Rick takes pride in being able to manage a project from start to finish with professionalism and a desire to exceed your expectations. He has been with Horizon Mechanical Solutions since 2010 and has been doing commercial and industrial projects since 1998. Rick skillfully plans and coordinates the needs of all stakeholders involved in all of his projects. His certifications include welding, OSHA training, MSHA training, refrigeration, onsite equipment, and he holds a journeyman’s license. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and he is a skilled horseman.
Kira joined the Horizon team in 2015 and currently holds the position of Controller and serves as the Corporate Secretary. As Controller, Kira is committed to cost-effective management of resources and quality performance. She has experience with managing all financial levels of multiple projects including billing, reporting, budgeting, and administration. She has experience in all aspects of daily, quarterly and year-end account management. In 2019 she became part owner of Horizon and is highly invested in the future success of the company and its employees. In her free time Kira enjoys photography, traveling, and going on outdoor adventures with her husband and 2-year-old son.
